Manhattan Rye batch 13 of this year was bottled up this weekend by our bottling crew (Mike and me). It went smoothly, got to see some lovely people on the tours and put some hootch into glass. Batch 13 is in the running for my favorite M. Rye Whiskey we’ve put out this year.
What I’m really tickled green about (not really a pink kind of guy) is that our batch of wheat is now going into 375’s. Look for NY Whiskey (green wax) batch 3, distilled from an all wheat grain bill!

Over the last few months we’ve implemented a few state-of-the-art upgrades using cutting-edge technology that has increased safety and decreased the wear and tear on components of the bottling room. … feel free to gawk, marvel, and/or stand in awe.
(1) We’ve upgraded three of our wax heating receptacles to include an aluminum drip shield. To secure the drip shield to the heating receptacle, we employ the latest in mounting clamp and heat-resistant tape technologies.

(2) The giant vacuum hose, over the waxing station, very effectively ventilates the area while taking care of the occasional unsuspecting bug that wanders into the vortex. Station also doubles as a suction dryer for any long-haired individual caught out in the rain.

(3) In an attempt to apply surge suppression technology to our bottling line, we have decreased the effect of the change in pressure on our filters. A longer hose was installed between the filling station and the filter canister on the bottling station. The longer, less structurally rigid hose allows the liquid inside the tube and the tube itself to help displace the change in pressure. ..Longer filter life.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this segment of Technological Feats. Check back for further updates, and as always: support your local ag. & markets.
